Wellesbourne Airfield Open Day 2016Sunday 8th May 2016. Every year the airfield organise an open day for the benefit of local towns and villages. The aim is to highlight what we do at Wellesbourne Airfield not only as a training facility but also as a leisure destination and local attraction. The airfield offer tower visits and there was a chance to climb on board the Vulcan. At Take Flight we always like to push the boat out, well technically plane, but you know what we mean, so we booked the weather (probably the hottest day of the year so far) and we hosted Live Music with the amazing Thom Kirkpatrick plus there was a Pig Roast and BBQ for the benefit of members and visitors alike. It was a busy day at the club with lots of flying lessons and members hiring aircraft from our fifteen strong fleet. A banner towing aircraft advertised the event over Stratford upon Avon and Warwickshire and there were a few interesting aircraft popping in to see us at Take Flight. Thanks to all those that helped out at Take Flight and Frankie for organising the event.
