Brimpton Evening Fly-Out.

4th September 2019. Despite gusty winds, the Take Flight gang managed an impromptu mid-week flyout to Brimpton Airfield near Newbury for September’s ‘First Wednesday’ event. With light showers in the vicinity, there were beautiful rainbows to be admired on the sunny half-hour flight to Brimpton.

The airfield is located within a Restricted Area (something to do with nuclear weapons - eek), making PPR essential, but the pilots were given a warm welcome on landing at the 620m grass strip and even got a lift down to the nearby Hind’s Head pub. There was plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely dinner before heading back to the aircraft for a spectacular sunset flight home. Take Flight looks forward to giving Brimpton’s members an equally warm welcome to Wellesbourne in the not-too-distant future!
