Electric Dreams - Christmas Party 2118th December 2021. The theme of this years Christmas party was Electric Dreams looking to the possible future of air travel and following our established theme of John Lewis advert references. As with flying the Captain makes the final call and we respected the decision of those members that chose to stay away because of the Pandemic, but those who braved it had a great time. Everyone was asked to test pre-event so we could all be as safe as possible. The changing numbers made for some challenges with table planning, but it worked like a dream!
It was great to see new members from Enstone, along with some loyal members who stuck with us following our move from Wellesbourne. The evening started with an introduction from the Aviation Minister Rt. Hon. Robert Courts MP wishing us all a Happy Christmas and welcoming us to Enstone, we played Electric or Cheese, presented awards for first solos, new PPL's, Take Flights CAA endorsed Proud Scheme and the Hamish Simmonds Achievement Award was given to Caroline Scott for her commitment to instructing and Take Flight Aviation despite her long commute. The unfortunate incident with the waiter and the tray turned out to be the start of a routine by our singing Waiter and Waitress that really kicked off the event and got everyone on their feet. Sam hosted the show with the occasional interruption from Dad! Thanks as always to Bob for video production and Mike Darby for the Laser show and a special thank you for everyone that came. |
