Monaco 2019.23rd - 28th May 2019. Our now annual trip down to Cannes for the Monaco F1 Grand Prix was one again a winner, as was Lewis Hamilton despite some shredded tyres! A regular pattern has now emerged with trips to Cannes town at the tail end of the film festival, a stroll around the quaint streets of Antibes and a drive out to the beautiful harbour of Port Grimaud to catch a boat to Saint Tropez to a stylish Take Flight favourite restaurant called "Opera" for lunch and people watching.
Once again it was party central on the Take Flight boat which was track side as close as it got to the action on the chicane. We also enjoyed the company of F1 legends Eddie Jordon and Mark Webber and food from a Michelin staff chief, as well as the odd drink or two with some old friends off the boats of previous years, as well as meeting some new acquaintances. There was a quick visit to the pit lane parties as the F1 circus packed away, before catching the last train back the Cannes for most to sleep off the events of the day, although Sam had an very early flight to catch to make a certain football match. Monaco and Wembley in 24 hours pretty cool! |
