Guinness World Record & Pooleys Dawn to Dusk Awards 2023.9th February 2023 Take Flight Aviation have been involved in the Dawn to Dusk awards for 12 years when in 2011 Mike Roberts and then Student Pilot and Operations Assistant Kim Towle won Pooleys top accolade 'The Duke of Edinburgh Trophy' for gaining a Guinness World Record for landing at the most airfields in 24 hours.
Since then then the world record has changed hands a couple of times, so on 14th June 2022 Nick Rogers and Mike Roberts set out to regain the title and enter the Dawn to Dusk competition once again. Ironically the day after the awards ceremony the new World Record was confirmed by Guinness with Mike and Nick receiving confirmation of the record with 118 full stop landings at different airfields in a single day! The Take Flight team enjoyed the celebrations and awards at the RAF club with Mike and Nick winning yet another podium position and picking up the "Best Video" award thanks to Bob Shuttleworth's master editing and Nick's cheese jokes! After the ceremony the team took to the skies once again, taking in London's sky-line at the Sky Bar for the typical Take Flight after party.
