Pooleys Dawn to Dusk 2023 Awards Night 20247th February 2024 Take Flight Aviation have been involved in the Dawn to Dusk awards for 13 years when in 2011 Mike Roberts and Kim Towle won Pooleys top accolade 'The Duke of Edinburgh Trophy' for gaining a Guinness World Record for landing at the most airfields in 24 hours, judged by the late Duke himself. Here's some of the nights pictures together with some of the photographs from this years "Extreme" entry that received a commendation.
Take Flight Aviation members have been involved in dozens of entries and Nick and Mike have collected no less than five Guinness World Records in the process. Once again there was a good Take Flight Aviation presence along with some old faces as well as Bob and Jackie Shuttleworth and Michael James who received a commendation for his first entry into the competition that also doubled as his commercial cross country qualifier whilst Nick and Mike went Extreme! North, South, East, West. Longest, Shortest, Highest, Lowest, Newest, Oldest airports, which you can check out mixed in with the event pictures below. After the ceremony the late night team took to the skies once again but this time with no aircraft, taking in London's sky-line at the Sky Bar for the typical Take Flight after party.
