Top Gun - Christmas Party 22

Saturday, 17th December 2022. The theme of this year’s Christmas party was Top Gun following the release of Maverick earlier this year. We played an original game called ‘Top Gun or Top Bun’ - in which party-goers had to decide whether a name was that of an aircraft (i.e. Top Gun) or ‘Top Bun’, a bread roll - skilfully won by Peter Taylor. There was, of course, the traditional TFA remake, this time a Top Gun trailer, and awards were presented for first solos, new PPLs and Take Flight’s CAA-endorsed Proud Scheme. Best themed dress was won by Rachel Ramsay, who won the treat of spending the rest of the evening with our mate Tom Cruise and even got to take him home!

The Hamish Simmonds Achievement Award was given to Thomas Bolam for his commitment to Take Flight Aviation and extraordinary achievements as a PPL and aircraft shareholder, before he can even drive! Once again the show was ably compered by Sam, with excellent food from the Ardencote Manor chefs, and music and dancing into the early hours. As always, many thanks go to Bob for video production, and some excellent themed table names and place cards. Thanks to all those who came - you can be our wing man anytime!
