1. WHAT FLYING EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?DAN:
"I'm a PPL with around 250 hours including some instrument and aerobatic training. Most of my flying is in the UK but a little in the USA and Canada as well." 2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE AIRCRAFT?DAN:
"The Cessna 172SP G-JMKE. It's a lovely aircraft to fly, well maintained and equipped, spacious and in immaculate condition." 3.WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT FLYING?DAN:
" A combination of a lot of things. Firstly, I have always loved aviation so being qualified to fly always feels like a privilege to me. I very much enjoy the fact that when flying you are always learning, always experiencing new things, and no matter how much experience you may (nor may not) have, there is always room to improve your skills. It is great to fly a route through busy airspace or to land at a busy commercial airport where you really need to be on top of your procedures, and experience the satisfaction of doing it all safely. Also, it is just great to be in the air, to see the world from above and enjoy stunning skyscapes, especially at dawn and dusk. Finally, I get a real buzz from taking passengers up, especially those who have never had the opportunity to fly in a light aircraft before - that is hugely rewarding." 4. WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT TAKE FLIGHT?DAN:
"The opportunity to fly with such a professional, well run and smart flying organisation. The approach that Take Flight Aviation take is such a refreshing and welcome change after my earlier frustrations with other flying schools nearer home. It has also been terrific to have the opportunity to fly JMKE which is, as per the rest of the Take Flight fleet, a lovely aircraft. It should go without saying that PPL hirers should be flying nice, well presented and well looked after aircraft but in my experience this is often not the case. KE could have been rolled out of the factory yesterday, and I am really pleased to have had the opportunity to fly and to take passengers up in such a nice aircraft. Take Flight Aviation is in my opinion is a model flying school that offers facilities and an approach that I have not seen anywhere else. Pretty much perfect in fact! The staff and management are accommodating and welcoming. One of the best things about Take Flight is the flexibility they offer members. There are no frustrations at TFA when it comes to times of day you can fly, I can fly at 4am in mid-June if I want to. When many clubs and airfields have restrictive hours, this flexibility is brilliant. There is also no pressure with aircraft booking slots. At other clubs I hated having to squeeze a flight into a 90 minute booking window. At Take Flight, you don't have this pressure you book the time you need and there's no restrictions and that means a far better and safer flying experience." |
