Hinton in the Hedges Evening Fly-Out.

Wednesday 7th June 2017. For the last 12 years Take Flight have been holding regular club meetings on the first Wednesday of every month. These consist of talks and short evening fly-outs.  Despite a few last minute cancellations due to a marginal weather forecast, five aircraft with suitably qualified pilots made the eighteen mile trip to Hinton in the Hedges airfield in the South of Northamptonshire.

Hinton in the Hedges airfield is home to Hinton Skydive Centre as well as flying and gliding clubs. We took a leisurely stroll to the 15th Century Crewe Arms pub where the lovely Kirstie looked after us for our excellent pre-ordered dinner and where passengers could enjoy a beer or cider. The stroll back in light drizzle was less pleasant than the walk to the pub but with forecasts checked, we headed back to Wellesbourne before dark.
