LONDON OXFORD AIRPORT & JOLLY BOATMAN FLY-OUT 20186th June 2018. Our regular monthly first Wednesday night club meeting was an evening fly-out for dinner and ten aircraft and thirty enthusiastic aviators made the short 24 mile flight down from Wellesbourne to London Oxford airport. The aircraft all fitted with the new .833 radios were a Piper PA-46 Malibu, Piper Saratoga PA-32, Cessna 172, no less than 4 x Piper PA-28s and 3 Cessna 152s including our tail dragger conversion! Departing between 17.00 and 17.30 from EGBW there was plenty of time for an enjoyable flight, followed by a short canal side walk to the Jolly Boatman for our pre-ordered dinner. It was a beautiful evening and we were blessed with a perfect sunset on the return leg, a great end to a relaxing and enjoyable evening with friends. Our CFI Dave said a few words commenting how many flying clubs enjoy this success and attendance for such events. Thanks to everyone for coming and lovely to see some friends and family as passengers too with many already talking about joining us again on future trips.
