York Easter Fly OutDespite a glorious Good Friday the unsettled weather forecast for the bank holiday weekend reduced numbers for our planned weekend fly-out, but those that were able to work round the weather forecast or come for just a day trip headed to Rufforth West, home to the York Gliding Club. Our hotel was the quirky Grade II listed Judges Court in the heart of the city which was accommodation for visiting Judges to York castle in the 1700's. In 1739 the legendary Dick Turpin was executed; sentenced by Sir William Chappie a former resident, but luckily he was no longer there for the Take Flight party trip, or more heads may have rolled!. There's so much to see and do in York including the Minster, Castle, Museums, Betty's Tea Rooms and hundreds of restaurants and bars making it an ideal town for a Take Flight Fly Out or a flying weekend visit.
